I was always in a “it’s complicated” relationship with my curls
“It all started when I was in school. As no one else had curly hair like mine (it was pretty unique for the place where I was born), I always felt uncomfortable to let it free. When you are young you want to blend in with the crowd and as I felt so different because of it, I kept it in a ponytail.
In high school I needed a change so I decided to let it free. It was awkward at the beginning but soon enough people started to compliment me and even play sometimes during classes with my curls.
Recently I was talking with a friend who told me that she can spot me in a store because of my hair (and that’s how my secret spy agent career went out the window ; ). During that conversation, I realised that my hair is actually different all the time. It depends on the water, the shampoo, the conditioner, the way I comb it, the way I dry it. People with curly hair have indeed good and bad hair days.
During my journey I stumbled upon good products but to be honest, up until this point, I never found something that truly makes me happy. Guess my search still goes on…”
